Datu Dr. Rashidah Bolhassan, MLS (Syracuse), EMBA (Ohio), PhD (VUW), served as the first Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak State Library (SSL) from 2003 until 2020. In 2021-2022, she served as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Sarawak. Driven by her passion for knowledge management and indigenous knowledge, she was appointed as an advisor to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Sarawak, focusing on heritage-related matters. She has been actively involved in the library profession both nationally and internationally. She is the immediate Past President of PPM, served as a member of IFLA’s Culture and Heritage Advisory Council, and was elected as a Standing Committee Member for IFLA’s Literacy and Reading Section. Additionally, she serves as Deputy Chair of SSL's Board of Management and as a Trustee and Mentor for the Women Leadership Foundation. In 2023, Rashidah was appointed as a Member of the National Council for Women and Family and an Adjunct Professor for the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts at UNIMAS. |
