Dr. Nor Edzan Che Nasir began her career as a librarian in 1983 and left the profession briefly in 1999 to pursue a career in academia. She was a senior lecturer, Associate Professor and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology, UM from 1999 to 2007. From 2007 to 2017, she was the Chief Librarian of UM. She was a member of the IFLA Information Literacy Section (2021-2025) and IFLA Asia-Oceania Regional Committee (2017-2025). She served as the President of Persatuan Pustakawan Malaysia from 2014 to 2016. She was awarded PPM’s Tokoh Pustakawan in 2017 and CONSAL Outstanding Librarian Award (Gold Medal) in 2022. With more than 26 years experience as an academic librarian and 8 years as an academician, her area of expertise is information literacy and her research interest centers on information literacy, usage of social media, management of library associations, library management and journal publishing. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Library & Information Science, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. |
