Trasvin Jittidecharak founded Silkworm Books, Thailand’s leading independent English-language publisher on Southeast Asia Studies, which she still runs. It is recognized for its editorial quality and international distribution through the University of Washington Press. A Parsons-trained designer with further publishing education at Stanford, she has advanced global appreciation of Thai and regional scholarship through collaborations with institutions such as the École Française d’Extrême-Orient. Trasvin has served on the International Publishers Association’s Executive Committee and Freedom to Publish Committee, was instrumental in Bangkok’s designation as UNESCO World Book Capital 2013, and is the ASEAN Book Publishers Association Secretary General. |
