Bruce holds a LLB (Hons) from University of London and Certificate in Legal Practice. He also attended Executive Management Programmes at ESMT Berlin, London Business School, Haas Business School, University of California, Berkeley and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. He is Managing Director of Technoriant Sdn. Bhd. His businesses span technical & vocational education and training, property development, technology investments and retail. He also owns and operates the Malaysia Flagship Store for JD Worldwide, part of the largest e-Commerce company in China and 3rd in the world, as well as manage cross border fulfilment with JDMas Group. He is also Executive Director of Skills Johor Sdn. Bhd., a Johor State TVET initiative which operates the hub located on a 100 acre land in the southern State of Malaysia. The said hub provides the ecosystem for recruitment, training, upskilling and placement of talents in the major industries such as oil & gas, biotechnology, healthcare, hospitality & tourism and logistics. Bruce is also advisor to Pow Pocket Sdn Bhd, the leading private vaccination healthcare distributor and wellness technology solutions provider in Malaysia. He taught law in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong for 7 years. He then became founder and CEO of e-SmartLearning, which enabled expansion of law programmes to be conducted in Singapore and Hong Kong using technology. He then moved on to Paramount Corporation Bhd and was involved in operations, sales & marketing for its Education Division before joining SEG International Bhd, a public listed education group, where he held the title of Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice-President. He also enjoyed a two year stint with the Government in the Minister’s Office at the Ministry of Transport of Malaysia. Bruce was the former chairperson of the Governing Committee and is Champion of the Productivity Nexus for Retail and F&B, and is now Advisor to the Nexus’ Virtual Advisory Clinic. He is also CEO Faculty under the CEOXchange with Universiti Kelantan Malaysia, and member of Industry Advisory Panel to the Polytechnics and Community Colleges department, under the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia. He also chaired the HRDF Sectorial Training Committee for Wholesale, Retail and F&B from 2015 to 2020. Bruce is also a member of the United Nations Global Impact Stewardship Council. Bruce is on the Council of Malaysia Digital Chamber of Commerce (MDCC), and was previously Secretary General of Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM) from 2018-2020 and Deputy Secretary General of Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) from 2014-2020. |
