Dr. Nor Edzan binti Che Nasir began her career as a librarian in 1983 at the Library of Universiti Sains Malaysia. In 1991, she moved on to become a librarian at the Law Library of the University of Malaya and in 1999 she became a lecturer for the Master of Library & Information Science programme at the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology, University of Malaya. In November 2007, she left the Faculty and became Chief Librarian of the University of Malaya, the post she held until she retired on 28 May 2017. She was President of Persatuan Pustakawan Malaysia (PPM) from the 2014/2016 term. She is the recipient of Tokoh Pustakawan PPM 2017 and the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (Perak Darul Ridzuan) in 2017.  She is currently the Secretary of IFLA’s Regional Standing Committee for Asia Oceania. She now spends her time travelling, writing, translating, editing as well as doing work for and with PPM. Her research interest centres on social media, library associations, journal publishing and information literacy. She has presented and published numerous papers.
