How Have the Best International Schools Responded to the Educational Challenges of  Covid-19?

Beyond the immediate health-and-safety and practical responses to COVID, such as social distancing and sanitising in school and getting computer connections and communications working between school and home, what have the award-winning top schools in the International world done to transform their educational offer for this ‘new normal,’ and justify their substantial fees? Charles Dormer will present his findings based on reviewing the international awards won by schools for special educational initiatives conducted in the 2020-21 school year, including some insights shared
personally by the school leaders responsible for them.

The Challenge for Boarding Schools

Boarding schools have been an integral part of the global education landscape for many years. However, in more recent times, boarding school operations have felt the need to rapidly evolve to remain an attractive, viable and cost-effective option. The challenge to provide all the ‘comforts and luxuries of home’ whilst concurrently enabling student growth, development and independence has never been greater. Boarding schools consistently operate beyond expectation to care and provide for the students entrusted into their care. Improved customer satisfaction and positive word of mouth are ever-present on boarding agendas. The continual quest to find that something special, a marketing edge, that will not only improve the student experience but will also create momentum and hopefully increase numbers. Boarding can and does provide financial stability for many educational establishments and this ensures that the pressure to deliver an outstanding product is ever-present.
