Emeritus Professor Dr Malachi Edwin Vethamani is a poet, writer, editor, critic, bibliographer and academic. He is former Head, School of English and Professor of Modern English Literature at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Nottingham Malaysia. His publications include: Coitus Interruptus and Other Stories (2018), two collections of poems, Life Happens (2017) and Complicated Lives (2016).  His latest publication is an edited volume of Malaysian poems entitled, Malaysian Millennial Voices (2021). He has also edited two volumes of Malaysian writings which cover a period of over 60 years, Malchin Testament: Malaysian Poems (2018) and Ronggeng-Ronggeng: Malaysian Short Stories (Maya Press, 2020). The Malaysian Publishers Association awarded Malchin Testament: Malaysian Poems  the Anugerah Buku Malaysia 2020 for the English Language category. He was bestowed the Special Excellence Award, Alumni Laureate Award 2020, by his alma mater, University of Nottingham and the Vice-Chancellor’s Achievement Medal,  University of Nottingham in 2019. In 2013, he was given the Asian Education Leadership Award conferred by World Education Congress, Mumbai, India and the Malaysian English Language Teaching Association (MELTA) Special Award. He is a recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship (2000) and the Chevening Award (1993).
