Dr. Duriya Aziz is the Senior Vice President and Publisher at Scholastic International, the world’s largest children’s books publisher and distributor. Dr Aziz is responsible for the development and implementation of education programs – digital and blended to support learners in diverse learning contexts. An English language and literature learning specialist by training, she has also had the privilege of introducing Singapore math to more than 50 countries around the world including the US.

Dr Aziz firmly believes that learning materials also present a world view and has strived to make sure representations of people and the world are equitable and inclusive in the programs. A published author of textbooks, children’s books and academic texts, these principles are foundational in her work. Dr Duriya Aziz regularly leads professional development of teachers in math, literacy, and creative & critical thinking. She is passionate about community service and participates in programs; consulting young people on their education and career, and helps women entrepreneurs start and build their businesses and careers. She is also an advisor to two STEAM-focused edtech start-ups.

Dr Duriya Aziz earned her doctorate at the Leeds Metropolitan University and holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the Open University. She holds graduate degrees in Business Administration and 

English Studies from the University of Strathclyde and the National University of Singapore, respectively.
